At 12.41, the South-East police district was notified that a man had escaped from Tønsberg District Court.
– I do not yet know how he got away, but the man has run towards the center, says operations manager Eskild Hagen Olsen.
The man was to be produced for custody in a theft case, but managed to get away.
The police have sent out several patrols and ask the public to contact them if they see the man.
– He is in his 30s and is around 181 cm tall, bald, slim and has a light beard. The man is wearing a yellow and a red sneaker, says Olsen.
He asks people to contact the police if they see the man.
