The police are investigating: – This was the Erna party

– This is broken for Erna, is the immediate comment from the restaurant couple Berit Kongsvik and Frode Aga in Geilo.

On Thursday night, Prime Minister Erna Solberg apologized for an excessive celebration of her 60th birthday at their restaurant Hallingstuene.

The Solberg family had 13 people at the table, divided into three tables, in a separate department without other guests, with room for 48 people before the first corona restrictions came, Dagbladet is informed by the restaurant owner.

The only one who was not in Hallingstuene’s separate company department was the 60th anniversary itself. Prime Minister Erna Solberg had to undergo a medical check-up for eye problems, and missed the celebration on Friday 26 February – two days after her birthday.

But the regret that 13 were gathered instead of the infection control ceiling of 10, it is the Prime Minister and the jubilant himself who have taken in replays.

On Friday, the South-East police district announced that the police will initiate an investigation to find out if there was a breach of the infection control regulations during the Prime Minister’s Geilo celebration.

In addition, the gang gathered for a sushi dinner the next day, where the Prime Minister was also present.

– Erna and the police have not called

– The phones here have not been quiet since Erna’s apology for infection control breaches became known on Friday night. Most of the calls have been from the media, but also from people who are concerned about how the Solberg family celebrated the following evening in the apartments they rented here in Geilo. At least we can not answer that, says Frode Aga (65) to Dagbladet.

And adds after our question:

– No, neither Erna nor the police have called.

The famous TV chef from the NRK series Kokkekamp and other programs from 1998 onwards, has run Hallingstuene for 32 years together with his wife Berit. Before that, he was, among other things, head chef at Engebret Cafe in Oslo.

Dagbladet visited the corona-closed Hallingstuene at the restaurant couple Kongsvik / Aga on Friday, to check the consequences of all nightlife being closed in the Easter paradise Geilo until 12 April.

– Someone had seen more than 10

Then they told us that the 60th anniversary party for the Prime Minister was being held here, and showed us Hallingstuenes chambre séparée.

Then Ernas smellbongbong triggered a few hours afterwards.

– NRK contacted us. It was probably an acquaintance of the caller who had been a guest here that evening. The guest had seen some familiar faces inside the company department, plus they were more than 10, says Frode Aga.

The man ordered

And this is how the 60th anniversary came about:

– Our restaurant manager received an email from the Prime Minister’s husband Sindre Finnes a few days in advance that he would like to book a place for 14.

– He called and talked to the restaurant manager a few hours before they were to arrive. They were only 13, Erna herself could not come anyway.

– Are there any rules that give restaurants responsibility for rejecting orders for more than 10 people?

– These were the same recommendations for roofing collections in own homes. We would like to facilitate the guests at the same time as we have been consistent in terms of infection control throughout this period, says Frode Aga.

5 + 4 + 4

And explains the table setting:

– There were three tables with more than two meters distance. And the guests were divided into three so-called cohorts with 5 + 4 + 4 guests at each of the tables. The man and the two children sat together, as did Erna’s sister and family. I do not remember on the fly who was placed on the third table. Our waiters wore face masks, and the guests at the birthday party used face masks as they walked through the other departments here to get to the restroom.

Dagbladet has been in contact with the Prime Minister’s husband Sindre Finnes on Friday afternoon about the event at Hallingstuene and about his order.

– No comment, is the short and clear response.

Paradox

Aga adds:

– It may have been contrary to the requirement of a maximum of 10 people in the family company. The paradox is that we could place between 20 and 30 random guests in the same department within the distance rules.

– Will this case damage Hallingstuene’s reputation?

– I do not hope so. And I do not think so, says restaurant owner and driver Frode Aga.
