The Polish CCC group will bring the HalfPrice brand to Romania in 2022, which will operate in the fashion outlet segment, market sources say. Until the closing of the edition, the company officials did not respond to ZF’s request regarding this initiative.
CCC is already present in Romania both with the footwear brand of the same name – the second largest retailer in Romania – and with the online stores epantofi and Modivo. The HalfPrice brand was launched in May 2021 and has already reached five countries and a network of 40 offline stores. To these are added the newly announced online operations.
In addition to Poland, the company has expanded to Croatia (the first store opened on November 30, 2021), the Czech Republic (October), Austria (August) and Hungary (August). Romania’s turn will come in 2022, say ZF sources.
The expansion with a new outlet brand comes in the context in which this kind of stores is gaining more and more popularity, as the CCC group officials said at the launch of the concept.
In addition, in Romania, the multibrand outlet market is fragmented and there is no group that enters malls as HalfPrice does in other markets where it is already present.
Before the pandemic, the Romanian fashion market was valued at about 5 billion euros, being highly competitive.
