The Poles are now ready for war with Russia

“40 million people can take up arms to defend their homeland,” Prime Minister Moravetsky said

Poland is ready to respond to a possible Russian invasion, warned Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki.

“If Russia ever plans to invade Poland, Russia must know, and the Kremlin must know, that there are 40 million Poles in Poland who are ready to take up arms to defend their homeland,” the Polish prime minister said. He spoke during the opening of a shooting range in the town of Mishkov. The government plans to help build a total of 380 such new shooting ranges and will legally facilitate Poles’ access to weapons.

Morawiecki also said that since the beginning of Russia’s military offensive in Ukraine, there has been a sharp increase in interest in the shooting ranges in Poland. He made it clear that his country would increase the size of its army and invest in new weapons systems.

The prime minister stressed that Poland has been “under the Russian boot” for centuries. “We do not want to return to this lack of freedom. We reject their colonialism and imperialism,” Moravetsky was quoted as saying by BTA.

CALL

Meanwhile, Polish President Andrzej Duda said his country urgently needs to replenish military equipment, as large quantities have been provided to Ukraine. He even asked NATO allies for help.

According to Duda, the total value of the transferred weapons amounts to $ 1.7 billion – mainly tanks, combat vehicles, artillery, as well as drones, hundreds of thousands of ammunition, spare parts and other equipment.

The president acknowledged that it would take months and even years to acquire new equipment and weapons that are currently being produced.

“On the other hand, we need to replenish supplies quickly. Therefore, we ask all our allies to provide us with weapons, not necessarily new ones. We have handed over used equipment and we are ready to accept used equipment,” Duda was quoted as saying by BGNES.
