Qualification for the Great Britain Grand Prix is untraditionally on the program already on Friday. However, its winner will not win pole position in the main race, but will start from first place in Saturday’s sprint. However, the novelty did not meet with enthusiasm among the competitors.
“I don’t think it’s right for a qualifying winner to get a pole position just for sprinting. If it’s supposed to be a discipline that only takes place a few times, it’s still okay, but it would be weird to keep doing it for a long time, said the winner of 57 qualifiers, German Sebastian Vettel.
