The franchise has chosen to collaborate with TV Tokyo to launch its first live-action series called “Pocket Filled With Adventure”, although it will not take place directly in the world of Pokémon.
Pokémon has explored various formats to promote its brand, including merchandising, movies, and TV series of all kinds, but until now, there was one area it hadn’t ventured into yet. However, that is about to change.
The Pokémon Company has announced an exciting novelty: the first live-action series, starring real actors.
This new series, titled “Pocket Filled With Adventure”, is the result of a collaboration between The Pokémon Company and TV Tokyo. Her debut is scheduled for October 19 in Japan, and in this announcement, the first image of the female lead was also revealed.
The plot centers on Madoka Akagi, a young woman played by Nishino Nanase, who moves to Tokyo to start her adult life and receives a special gift from her grandmother: an old copy of Pokémon Red for Game Boy. Through this gift, Madoka discovers the Pokémon franchise and begins to connect with it in a unique way.
Although an international premiere has not yet been confirmed or planned, it is important to note that this live-action series will offer a different experience than what we saw in “Detective Pikachu”, since it will not present realistic versions of the beloved Pokémon.
Instead, the series will focus on how Madoka plunges into the world of video games after receiving Pokémon Red, which is sure to evoke nostalgic memories for fans of the franchise.
We hope this series has the opportunity to reach other regions and continue to strengthen the legendary Pokémon franchise.
