The Poco C55 is likely to be the rebranded Redmi 12C and should be launched soon

Poco launched the entry-level Poco C50 smartphone in India last week. It is now believed that the company may soon launch another Poco C series smartphone. Now a trusted tipster claims that the Poco C55 may soon be on its way to the global market. Interestingly, the tipster suggests that this smartphone could be a modified version of the recently appeared Redmi 12C in China. The Redmi 12C is a budget offering that features a 6.71-inch HD+ display with a teardrop-shaped notch on the front.

Tipster Kacper Skrzypek (Twitter: @kacskrz) mentions this recently tweets The Redmi 12C will be launched globally as the Poco C55. This entry-level smartphone is also expected to arrive in India. All Redmi C series smartphones are believed to be rebranded versions of Redmi phones. The recently launched Poco C50 in India is also said to be rebranded [Redmi A1+].

If the Poco C50 is indeed the rebranded Redmi 12C, it will have similar specs to the latest phone. To remind you, the Redmi 12C features a 6.71-inch Full HD+ display with 500 nits of peak brightness. Under the hood, the phone packs an octa-core MediaTek Helio G85 SoC, along with Mali-G52 GPU.

Redmi 12C features a dual 50MP rear camera with LED flash. There is also a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. This smartphone also has a 5MP front camera. It features up to 6GB LPDDR4x RAM and up to 128GB eMMC 5.1 flash storage, which can be expanded via microSD card (up to 512GB).

It comes with a 5,000mAh battery with support for 10W wired fast charging. Redmi 12C features a 3.5mm headphone jack and a micro-USB port. This smartphone is available in Shadow Black, Sea Blue, Mint Green and Lavender colors.
