Jakarta (ANTARA) – Samsung Electronics said it will unveil a new smartphone next week that is expected to be a “pocket-friendly” variant of the Galaxy S20 smartphone, Yonhap News Agency reported Monday.
The South Korean technology company said it would hold an online event “Galaxy Unpacked for Every Fan” on September 23.
Samsung did not reveal which devices it will introduce, but industry insiders are expecting the company to introduce the Galaxy S20 Fan Edition (FE), as the invitation emphasizes the word “fans.”

“Over the years, Samsung has developed a special relationship with Galaxy fans around the world,” said Samsung.
“Their valuable input has helped create compelling innovations and make the mobile experience better for everyone,” Samsung continued.
The Galaxy S20 FE is said to be the “budget” model of the flagship Samsung Galaxy S20 series introduced in February.
The Galaxy S20 FE is estimated to have a 6.5-inch display that supports 120Hz refresh rate, 6GB RAM and 128GB storage space. This device is expected to have a triple lens setup on the rear camera.
The price of the Galaxy S20 FE is estimated at around 800,000 won (around Rp. 10 million) in South Korea. In comparison, the Galaxy S20 launched in Indonesia in early March at a price of IDR 12,999 million.
The Galaxy S20 FE is expected to go on sale in South Korea next month.
Samsung in the last two months has conducted a survey of around 10,000 Samsung users about the device features and reportedly tries to reflect the survey results to the next smartphone.
According to the survey, the colors users preferred the most for Galaxy devices were dark blue, followed by lavender and mint.
In terms of display features, users like the screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, dark mode and Infinity-O display the most.
