The plenary session of the A Coruña Provincial Council demands more resources at the beginning of the school year | Radio Coruña

The Provincial Council of A Coruña demand the Xunta de Galicia more resources and more investments to ensure the safety of the school year that has just begun. The plenary session has approved motions of the provincial government, formed by PSOE and BNG, and Atlantic Marea urging the government by Alberto Núñez Feijóo a lower the ratio of students per classroom, hire more teachers and assume the costs of cleaning and disinfection of the centers before “the failure of the organization of the school year 2020-2021”.

The Popular Party has voted against these initiatives. Faced with criticism from other groups, the PP argued that the Xunta is “doing its job and the State Government is not.”

The plenary session also unanimously approved an investment of half a million euros for the recovery of the O Pasatempo de Betanzos Park. The provincial government calls on the Xunta to draw up a comprehensive recovery plan. The first phase of the works will be in the area of ​​the retirement pond, the most damaged and in danger of being lost. The O Pasatempo Park was declared by the Xunta Asset of Cultural Interest.

The plenary session also approved, with the support of all the political groups, a modification of the contracting specifications “which will mean important improvements for the economic and labor revitalization in the sector”, explains the provincial institution.
