The Plenary of Lorca authorizes a credit of 7.2 million to pay Iberdrola after the sentence

The municipal plenary approved yesterday with the votes in favor of PSOE, Cs and IU and the abstention of PP and Vox a credit operation worth 7.2 million euros over ten years with zero interest to cover the payment of the court ruling which obliges the Consistory to return 9.8 million euros to Iberdrola for the liquidation of the fees for the Carril and Nogalte substations. The City Council will subscribe the credit through the Fund for Financing Local Entities of the central Government for the payment of court rulings.

Yesterday’s plenary session took place in a mixed format, with three mayors at home due to illness. The mayor, Diego José Mateos, confined by Covid, intervened telematically, as did the mayor of the PP, Belén Pérez. The popular councilor Ángel Meca also participated from his house, where he is recovering from surgery.

During the plenary session, a PP motion was approved to demand that the Government of Spain not carry out fiscal harmonization and lower taxes on citizens. The PP’s motions to recover the services in the Treasury delegation and to request the inclusion of Lorca in the World Network of Artisan Cities also prospered.

The PSOE obtained the support of its request to the Community so that it elaborates a Regional Plan of Primary Attention. Vox obtained support in its petition to build a health center in the San José neighborhood, a nursery school in the district of Purias and that improvements be carried out in the Zarzadilla de Totana council.

In the plenary session, the deputy mayor, Francisco Morales, of Cs, assumed the presidency, whose municipal group managed to unanimously approve a motion aimed at strengthening the cybersecurity capabilities of SMEs and the self-employed.

IU also obtained the support of the rest of the groups in its motion to demand the construction of the storm collector of the Saprelorca estate, but its proposal to remunicipalize the parks and gardens service was rejected.
