The PlayStation 5’s rest mode causes some consoles to crash

The PlayStation 5 is generally very well received, but the console now appears in the first days after its release in various countries to have some annoying problems that occur with some of the owners. For example, we announced earlier today that different users suffer from one download-bug. Some also experience problems with the console’s rest mode, it has become clear.

With the rest mode, the PlayStation 5 is put into a kind of sleep mode and with this you can, for example, still charge controllers and keep applications active, so that you can immediately continue with them when you start using the console again. Are on the internet now notifications appeared of users who saw their PlayStation 5 crash when entering rest mode.

It is not clear how widespread this problem is. We do know that the problem occurred with people who played Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Spider-Man Remastered or Godfall, among others. So the problem is not due to one specific game. An Insomniac Games employee left at least know that the studio is aware of the problem and that a solution is being worked on.

Sony will also undoubtedly be working behind the scenes to fix the PlayStation 5’s rest mode issues, though no official response has yet been released. The issue may be resolved before November 19, when the PlayStation 5 is also released here. If this is not the case, we recommend that you do not use the rest mode for a while, in order to avoid the problem.
