Muhammad Abdel Samie (Sharjah)
With the support of the National Program for Culture and Creativity launched by the Ministry of Culture, and within the framework of the grant allocated for creativity and representation within the performing arts and theater sector launched by the program , the artist Ahmed Abdullah Rashid, who received the grant, presented, in the middle of a large public presence, the first performance of the play “Masad”, on … Masoud, Khaled Al-Dhanhani , Abdullah Al-Khadeem, and a group of promising dramatic talents.
The play deals with an imaginary case whose events take place in some non-specific place, in the middle of an eternal time with no clear characteristics and nature, where three characters meet, asking questions about events that happened in the past and what happened after.
Therefore, “Msd” launched its questions to encourage the audience and bring them into the theater game, because it started with a sermon delivered by the character (Adwan) in the theater hall and side offstage, and then back to the box, and the characters begin to change into lost characters, very confused and questioning, until the characters realize the time gone and what they were before they got to this place. The lighting, designed and executed by Rashid Abdullah, was able to add an expressive touch with bright and simple colors, while the makeup of the artist Ghaida Al-Jabara helped the characters to reveal their inner qualities to express in a certain way. As for the music, which was designed and executed by Muhammad Al-Hindassi, it was harmonious and simple with the rhythm of the work.
It is expected that the second performance of the play will be presented in February 2025, in one of the cultural centers associated with the Ministry of Culture.
