The plant forgotten by the world. How important it is for health

During the communist period, castor was cultivated in our area on large areas, but today there are few who have heard of this plant and many fewer who rely on the establishment of a castor crop in the field.

Two years ago, Ioan Conț, a farmer from Cluj-Napoca, dared to set up a castor plantation on about one hectare and told Agrointeligența about the market opportunities for this unique crop.

“And today I remember how beautiful the castor fields were in my childhood. Two years ago I bought seed from the internet and I decided to start cultivating this medicinal plant. For everything that means information regarding culture technology, I found out from the internet. Although I did not find too many Romanians to cultivate on large areas of castor, I realized that I could not fail. I thought that if my grandparents managed to cultivate this plant a hundred years ago, why couldn’t I ”, Ioan Conț, a farmer from Cluj, declared for Agrointeligența.
