Paderborn (dpa) – Due to a bomb threat, a passenger plane with more than 200 people on board en route from Poland to London has landed in Paderborn without a schedule.
According to the police, no suspicious objects were found during a search of the Airbus A321 of a Hungarian airline. Specially trained dogs were also used. The car is expected to continue flying to its intended destination in London on Monday, a police spokesman said.
The airport reopened early in the morning
The airport reopened early Monday morning. At seven o’clock a plane from Paderborn to Munich departed as scheduled, an airport spokesman confirmed. The passengers and crew were taken to the airport building on Monday night, police said. The 199 passengers and 7 crew members were subsequently accommodated in area hotels, the airport spokesman said.
Police said there was no danger to them. According to the police, the reference to the bomb threat came from Polish air traffic control. The threat came by telephone. The background was still unclear in the morning.
According to police, the car took off from Poznań, Poland on Sunday evening and landed at Paderborn/Lippstadt airport around 22:05 on instructions from the airline concerned.
