The bodies of two young men were found in the bottom of an Avianca airline plane while they were being treated in the Colombian capital, Bogota on Saturday (7/1).
Avianca airlines said technicians found the body on Friday (6/1) when the plane arrived at Bogota’s El Dorado airport. The two corpses were suspected to be clandestine.
Avianca expressed condolences for the families of the two people and added that although it always checks the aircraft before each flight, airport security and restricted areas are the responsibility of the authorities.
“The Attorney General’s Technical Investigation Agency is taking urgent action to identify the nationality and provenance of the 15-year-old and 20-year-old bodies of African descent that were found aboard,” the office said in a statement. of the Attorney General.
No identification has been found on the two bodies. But one of the victims was known to be carrying Dominican Republic currency, and a suitcase that was found contained documents from that country.
The discovery concluded that those people may have become clandestine on Avianca aircraft since January 3, when the aircraft was last in the country.
The last Avianca aircraft underwent routine maintenance on 27 December. Since then he traveled to Bogota, Guarulhos and Santiago.
