Brooks trained with his colleagues at the Gwangju-KIA Champions Field on the 8th. This was my first training outdoors, so I trained with a bright expression, such as playing catch ball and running with my colleagues. When new pitchers such as Lee Eui-ri were playing bullpen pitching, they deliberately entered the bullpen and watched.

In September of last year, due to a car accident by my family, I returned after five months of urgently returning to the United States. He said, “When the family was in an accident, the club, the team, and the fans helped too much. Of course, I thought I had to return to KIA, and I will be with you until the end of the season so that the team can advance to the postseason this year.” Brooks, who steadily trained and maintained his condition, said, “I will slowly raise my condition because there is time left until the start of the season.” As a sign of gratitude for the squad, he specially produced a bracelet with the hashtag (#WWMB36) conceived by the captain Yang Hyun-jong last year and the phrase KIA FIGHTING (KIA FIGHTING), and presented it to the squad.

Suddenly, he became the best pitcher among the starting pitchers. He said, “Except for Ko Young-chang and Hong Sang-sam, I was the best. Mengden also said,’Korea has a strict hierarchy according to age. I gave a lot of advice to my younger friends and told me that the KBO League has a fun culture where my brothers are strong, so I have to adapt well. He said, “It’s a quiet personality in the first place, but this year I’ll give a lot of advice to my juniors, and I’ll tell you the know-how that doesn’t lose concentration on the mound.” It seems that he has assumed the role of the pitching team leader.

Questions have already begun. Brooks said, “I asked if the major leagues were getting up to speed like this.” This year, KIA delayed the start of technical training as much as possible under the strict order of coach Matt Williams. My body is anxious to throw and hit the ball, but I have to be patient. Brooks said, “I went through the season last year, and since the middle of the season, my stamina has gone down and everyone has suffered. “The coaching staff probably ordered me to slowly raise my condition to improve this area.”

“Last year, the goal was 20 wins in the season. Seungri is not what I want to do, but this year’s goal is to be as healthy as possible and to fulfill my role as a starting pitcher. In addition, I will do my best to steadily improve the areas that can be improved through my efforts, such as the average ERA and WHIP per innings.” This is Brooks, who is already ready to play the role of an ace.
