The group of Cuban comedians, Los Pichy Boys, spoke out in favor of YouTuber Alexander Otaola’s campaign to be mayor of Miami-Dade County.

Through their official Instagram account, the comedians shared a photo of the influencer’s campaign, expressing their support and pointing him out as “their candidate.”

Otaola aspires to obtain the mayor of Miami-Dade in the July elections of this year, and so far he has presented proposals mainly aimed at preventing the entry of allies of the Cuban regime into the territory.

This is precisely the point that ‘Los Pichy’ mentions as a determining factor in supporting him in his campaign.

“It’s official, this is our candidate and we will vote for him in these elections. Miami-Dade needs a change, we cannot allow the capital of Cubans in exile to be filled with communists. That is why this 2024 I ask our fans to Vote for @alexanderotaola as mayor of the county,” they wrote in their publication.

These divided positions were appreciated in the comedians’ post, as many of the comments criticized that they are supporting Otaola, several of them remembering that the driver does not even know how to speak English despite the years he has been in the United States.

In that sense, criticism also went towards the Pichy Boys, with their own followers asking them to reconsider their position.

At the moment the comedians have not responded to any of the negative comments, nor have they expressed intentions of changing sides either.

The Miami-Dade mayoral elections will take place on Tuesday, August 20, 2024. Otaola’s biggest rival is the current county mayor, Daniella Levine Cava, of the Democratic Party.
