With a big and solemn concert-spectacle, the Annual “Doctor of Burgas” awards for 2024 were presented. The festive event was held in the Culture House of the National Theater under the title: “For the doctors of Burgas – with gratitude!”.
It was attended by over 500 Burgas doctors, nurses and specialists from all hospitals, diagnostic-consultative and medical centers in Burgas.
The award “Physician of Burgas 2024” in the category “Physician with the greatest contribution to establishing the authority of the medical community in Burgas” was awarded to Associate Professor Vladimir Kornovski – cardiologist at “Heart and Brain” Hospital. Prof. Kornovski won the award for the second time.
In the category “Physician of the citizens of Burgas”, the award went to Dr. Diyan Gospodinov – cardiologist at the “Dr. Staykov” Medical Center.
Professor Minko Minkov, professor at the Medical Faculty of Asen Zlatarov University, was awarded “Favorite Professor – Doctor of the Year”.
The awardees and the doctors in the hall were congratulated by the deputy mayor in charge of health care Mihail Nenov, the chairman of the Regional College of the Bulgarian Medical Union – Burgas Dr. Zheni Stoichkova, the deputy rector of the University “Prof. Asen Zlatarov” Prof. Irena Markovska and representatives of the organizations of nurses and pharmacists.
The “Physician of Burgas” awards are given as a sign of appreciation for the work, dedication and professionalism of all the doctors of Burgas, who have dedicated their lives to medicine and to the vocation to take care of people’s health.
The concert was attended by some of the most beloved Burgas performers – Vocal group “Sea Sands” with conductor Milena Dobreva, Folk Ensemble “Zornitsa” with conductor Nikolay Parushev, Professional Folk Ensemble “Strandja” with conductor Mario Egov, Sports Dance Club “Burgas” 1975″ led by Andrey Todorov, Georgi Dyulgerov, Lyudmil Mihailov, Lora Panosyan and Nia Stoyanova – soloist in the vocal formation “Sea Sands”.
Dr. Loris Manuelyan and Dr. Milena Petrova acted as hosts of the show.
The “Physician of Burgas” ceremony is organized by the Municipality of Burgas, the Regional Board of the Bulgarian Medical Union – Burgas and the University “Prof. Dr. Asen Zlatarov”.
