The photos may show the AMD Radeon RX 7000 prototype with two 8-pin connectors – Computer – News

Images of a possible AMD Radeon RX 7000 video card have surfaced online. It appears to be a prototype, which has two 8-pin power connectors and three fans. AMD will officially announce the Radeon RX 7000 series on November 3rd.

The photos were posted by Twitter user 9550pro, which most often posts GPU information in advance. The images are said to come from a private QQ chat. The video card in the photos appears to be an example of Radeon RX 7000 engineering; the video card shown has a red pcb with several contacts on the back. It is not known which Radeon RX 7000 video card is involved, although VideoCardz speculates that it is a higher-positioned RX 7900 series model.

The prototype may already have the cooler that AMD will use for its RX 7000 reference cards; the design matches the teasers that the company showed in late August. For example, the video card has three red stripes on the heatsink, which could also be seen on the chipmaker’s teaser images. The video card also has a cooler that appears to be longer and higher than that of the Radeon RX 6900 XT. That cooler has three fans, which look even bigger than the fans in the RX 6900 XT reference card.

For power, the video card has two 8-pin connectors, just like the current RX 6900 XT. These two connections together provide a maximum power of 300W, in addition to the 75W that can be provided by the PCIe slot. It is unknown how much power AMD’s RX 7000 video cards will use. Previously published an alleged diagram of a Radeon RX 7900 XT pcbwhich had three 8-pin connectors.

AMD’s first RDNA3 graphics cards are expected this year. Agency will hold a keynote on November 3rd where it officially announces the video cards. According to VideoCardz, the company will certainly announce two models, both of the Radeon RX 7900 series. The Radeon RX 7900 XT and RX 7900 XTX would both have a Navi 31 GPU with chiplet design. However, the release date of the RX 7000 series has not yet been announced AMD leaker Greymon55 claims that the first cards will be released in early December.
