To protect your data, only one phone number can be added to a single Microsoft account.
Therefore, if after logging into a Microsoft application you are asked if you want to change the number O continue, this means that this number is already associated with a different account.
You will see this screen if …

You created a Microsoft account with that number in the past, but forgot about it.

One of your family members already uses this phone number with his own account.

This is a new phone number. Since mobile operators can reuse phone numbers after 30 days, the previous owner of that number may still have it associated with their Microsoft account.
Since the number was only recently added to the other account, the only option is to use another mobile phone number or continue with the application setup without adding a mobile phone number.
Your choices
To fix this, you have the option of using a different mobile number (the option Change ), or continue to the next step and choose not to add your phone number at this time.
Use the instructions below to help you select the best option.
Use the Change if option:
You want to add a different phone number so that you can use it with this application and thus access all the features of the application.

Use the Continue option if:

You only have one mobile phone number, and since the Microsoft account you use with this app is also your personal one, you want to use it here.

You set up this app for a minor or someone else without a mobile phone, but you want this person to have the app and your phone number to be used to complete the setup.

Option 1: Change number
If you select Change number, you will be shown the phone number entry screen again, where you can select another phone number to use this application.

Please select Change number.

Enter a new phone number.

Follow the remaining prompts to add the number to the account you use with this app.

Option 2: Continue with login
If you select Continue, the mobile phone number you added will remain in the other account and you can log into the app without adding a phone number. We will ask you later if you want to update this option in case you change your mind.
Note: If you select this option, some of the features of this app may not work (for example, easily find friends and colleagues with the Teams app).
