The Ministry of Tourism of the Philippines has decided to promote in 2023 the healing tourism, spa and recreation (Wellness). An agreement was recently signed with Agora Group from Dubai, which is a leading global group in the fields of health, recreation and medical tourism.
The Philippine Minister of Tourism, Cristina Garcia Fresco, stated that “the goal is to expose the Philippines as a leading destination in the world for medical, spa and recreational tourism. Because the Philippines has the natural conditions and resources for medical and recreational tourism. We have the appropriate facilities, the right people and the support of the government.”
As we know, the Philippines is known as a nation where compassion, warm welcome and concern for others is an element of the local culture. In Israel, we are aware of this thanks to the Filipino nannies in our parents’ generation. In the Philippines there are 63 private hospitals near four international airports. Treatment costs are significantly lower compared to other countries in the Asian continent. The Philippines is also one of the largest countries in the world where English is an official language.
In the meantime, the Philippines continues to reap global awards in 2023: the island nation was recently crowned at the largest diving fair of its kind in Asia (DRT), as the leading diving destination in the world. The magical island of Bohol in the Philippines was recently chosen by the Rough Guide as the third most desirable destination in the world for 2023. The British magazine TIME chose the island of Palawan as one of the most promising destinations in the world to enjoy a perfect tropical vacation. And Lonely Planet determined that the spectacular nature of the northern island of Luzon is one of the 15 most promising and best tourist destinations in the world in 2023.
