BANDUNG BARAT, iNews.id – Astronomical phenomena that are quite rare will happen again and can be seen directly. Namely in the form of a view of the eight planets in the Solar System that are lined up perpendicular to the eastern horizon.
Astronomer and spokesman for the Bosscha Observatory, Yatny Yulianti, said that this lined-up planet event occurred 18 years ago and will occur again in 2040. Some of the planets can be seen with the naked eye.
“Actually, this is not a routine event, but it repeats itself with a certain time span. Later in 2040 the same phenomenon will also occur,” he said, Friday (6/24/2022).
Later planets such as Mercury, Venus, Mars, and Saturn can be observed with the naked eye because they emit bright enough light. Meanwhile, Uranus and Neptune can only be observed with a telescope.
The view of the planetary line can be seen in the sky of Bandung from mid to late June 2022. The right time to witness this natural phenomenon is when the sky is dark or around 05.00 in the morning.
“Bright planets such as Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn can be observed simultaneously, this phenomenon will occur until the end of June 2022,” he said.
