The Phenomenon of Lunar Eclipse in Indonesia: Witness the Partial Lunar Eclipse at the End of October 2023

JawaPos.com – The phenomenon of a lunar eclipse will occur again in Indonesia and can be witnessed at the end of October 2023.

Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) in its press release
explained that there will be a partial lunar eclipse at the end of October 2023.

According to the BMKG, the partial lunar eclipse will last on Sunday (29/10) for 4 hours 28 minutes 10 seconds.

BMKG also explained that a lunar eclipse is an event where the Sun’s light is blocked by the Earth so that not all of it reaches the moon.

An event which is one of the consequences of the dynamic movement of the Sun’s position,
The Earth and Moon only occur during the full moon phase and can be predicted in advance. A partial lunar eclipse occurs when the positions of the Moon-Sun-Earth are aligned.

This causes part of the Moon’s disk to enter the Earth’s umbra. As a result, when the peak of the eclipse occurs, the Moon will appear dark, slightly reddish in the part affected by the Earth’s umbra.
