JAKARTA – Api generally extinguishes when exposed to water. However, it turns out that there is indeed a fire that emerges from the bottom of the ocean and can stay burning.
This is a phenomenon that occurs in nature, precisely at the bottom of the oceans on Earth. The fires come out naturally due to underwater volcanic eruptions.
In the book ‘Miracles of Al-Qur’an & As-Sunnah’ explained the origin of the discovery of fire in this ocean. After World War II, scientists scoured the oceans and seas looking for mineral materials whose reserves were running low.
They were surprised to find that many volcanic mountains stretched across the ocean for thousands of kilometers which they referred to as underwater mountains.
By studying the expanse of underwater mountains, it is clear that these mountains were formed as a result of violent volcanic eruptions.
At a depth of about 1.6 km under the sea, volcanic eruption lava can melt out and heat up to spit volcanic ash. This phenomenon can occur in all oceans.
Volcanoes on the ocean floor are more numerous and more active than volcanoes on land. The volcano stretches along the ocean floor.
Before humans discovered this fact and the existence of advanced technology for underwater observation, the holy book of the Koran had long explained this scientific phenomenon.
Allah SWT says:
“1. By the mountain (Sinai), 2. and the book written, 3. on an open sheet, 4. by Baitul Ma’mur (Ka’bah), 5. by the roof that is raised (sky), (6) and the sea that is there is basically fire. ” (Quran Surah At-Tur Verses 1–6)
The fact that there is fire in the ocean has long been mentioned in the holy Koran since 14 centuries ago. This was long before humans made advanced technology for observation or research on the seabed.
