New York’s longest-running musical will be back on stage soon.

According to the show’s press secretary, Broadway producers will soon be working with New York State on the health protocol that will apply in theaters. Wearing a mask at all times as well as a vaccination control are being studied. The Phantom of the Opera Should only reopen if New York theaters reopen at full capacity.

Just before the Covid-19 pandemic, The Phantom of the Opera was in its 32nd year of operation in New York and in its 34th year of operation in London. It also holds the American record for the show having employed the most employees with nearly 6,500 people including 400 actors.

In London, the show is set to restart on July 27 at Her Majesty’s Theater and is set to premiere at the Sydney Opera House on September 3, 2021.
