The fastest production car we have ever produced is proud of the French Peugeot at the introduction of the new 508 Sport Engineered. The combustion unit and two electric motors help to produce 360 horsepower.

Peugeot will offer a sharp version of the 508 Sport Engineered in both body variants, ie as a liftback and a more practical station wagon. The French are especially proud of their creation and say that they did not follow any predefined path in creating a powerful car, but followed their own heritage, passions and know-how…
The heart of the car is a supercharged 16-liter petrol engine, which itself has 147 kW and 300 newton meters of torque. However, this was not enough for the creators and they made the car a plug-in hybrid equipped with two more electric motors. The front one has 81 kW and 320 newton meters, the rear one has 83 kW and 166 Nm. Guess right, the 508 Sport Engineered is an ATV equipped with an eight-speed automatic transmission as standard.

Because the numbers of all engines cannot be easily added, we get a more complex calculation for 265 kW (360 hp) and 520 newton meters. The obtained energy is stored in a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 11.5 kWh, which according to the WLTP methodology should be enough to cover up to 42 kilometers on a single charge. In the sharpest mode, the electrified novelty gives a hundred in 5.2 seconds, accelerates from 80 to 120 km / h in three seconds and can continue to an electronically limited maximum speed of 250 km / h. With electricity, the car can handle speeds of up to 140 km / h.
On a 7.4 kW charger, the battery will charge in an hour and forty-five minutes, on a wallbox it will take some four hours and a standard home socket will take seven hours. The table parameters, which speak of 46 grams of CO, are important for the carmaker2 per kilometer and consumption of 2.03 liters.

Among other things, Peugeot boasts a chassis tuned to a sporty note and adapted to the plug-in hybrid drive. In addition to a brisk ride, Peugeot also promises a high level of safety. There is also an army of assistance and safety systems – adaptive cruise control with stop / go function, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning and night vision.
The sports version features a redesigned front bumper, a different radiator grille or foils with specific decorative elements on the sides. We can also notice other exhaust tailpipes and we can’t miss the twenty-inch wheels fitted with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires. The novelty is manufactured in Mulhouse, France, and will arrive on the European market in mid-October this year.
