The ‘Pertini attic’ in Fontana Trevi will become a memorial house

(ANSA) – ROME, 08 NOV – “The proposed resolution was approved yesterday in the Council with which the property owned by Roma Capitale which for years was used as a residence by the president of the Repubblica Sandro Pertini and his wife Carla Voltolina from the beginning of his mandate and until 1990, the year of his death”. This was announced by the Capitoline PD councilor Antonella Melito, the first signatory of the motion voted unanimously by the Capitoline Assembly in 2022, with which the council and the mayor committed themselves to making the ‘Mansarda di Trevi’ a house of memory. The property, he explains, will be taken over by the Ente Stati Generali del Patrimonio Italiano registered in the Single Register of the Third Sector which will take care of the renovation costs to make it its headquarters and implement the ‘Presidential Cities’ initiative within it , that is, a cultural, historical and tourist itinerary of the places where the presidents of the Italian Republic were born and lived. “In the building there will be set up – continues councilor Dem – a library in which books and publications relating to the figures of the presidents will be cataloged and arranged, a graduation room dedicated to Sandro Pertini, equipped to accommodate teachers, researchers and students and a room, named after Carla Voltolina for small conferences, art exhibitions and book presentations.
