The person responsible for the NTFS drivers in the Linux kernel has disappeared

The person responsible for the NTFS to Linux kernel drivers appears to have disappeared, reports The Register.

In any case, the responsible person must no longer manage his code or respond to any messages.

Paragon Software’s NTFS3 drivers became part of the Linux kernel in connection with the release of kernel 5.15 on October 31, 2021. Since then, the drivers have not received any maintenance whatsoever. Paragon themselves have not yet commented on the whole thing.

It is currently unclear who, if any, will take over the management of the code. At present, however, there is no data to suggest that NTFS may be removed from the Linux kernel.
