In the second half of 2020, numerous trailer thefts and burglaries were perpetrated in the municipalities of Ploudalmézeau, Saint-Pabu and Lampaul-Ploudalmézeau. The soldiers of the community of Saint-Renan brigades investigated these facts, which permanently disturbed the local population. Two individuals, unfavorably known to the justice system and the police, were identified and a first operation started on February 9, aimed at arresting them. Only one of the two is apprehended, at first, but the first custody of this 20-year-old, resident of Lampaul-Ploudalmézeau, made it possible to confirm the soldiers as to the involvement of the second.
In search of the second thief
New research was then carried out, making it possible to locate it in the town of Porspoder. An arrest operation is therefore decided for February 18 at 6 a.m. The soldiers of the Brest gendarmerie surveillance and intervention platoon (Psig), supported by the mobile gendarmes of the Brest 14/3 squadron, take over an individual pavilion.
During this operation, the individual in his twenties, already a perpetrator of various offenses, was arrested. A second quidam is also arrested and placed in police custody, following the discovery of narcotic products, for acts of use, possession, offer or transfer, acquisition of narcotic products. A third young man will be heard in open hearing. The three are handed over to the investigators of the Saint-Renan brigade community as well as to the gendarmes of the narcotics group of the Brest company. A dog team will support searches and bring up to date 16.3 grams of cocaine, 5.5 grams of herb, 33.2 grams of resins and € 370 in cash.
Placed in detention
During the hearings, several consumers were identified and confirmed the trafficking of narcotic products in the sector. This operation helped update a local network, while solving three scams, five trailer thefts, three burglaries and an identity theft. The two individuals were presented this Friday, February 19, at the end of the day, to the prosecution. They are being held in the Brest remand center, pending trial on February 23.
