The performance of the a cappella group Insomnia will end in the LV Jazz Series 2021

On December 16, the “LV Jazz Series 2021” will end with a performance of the a cappella group “Insomnia”, where concerts of Latvian jazz music performers in the legendary Latvian Radio 1st studio will be offered live.

Vocal group “Insomnia” was founded in 2018 and performs various genres in a cappella style. It won second place in one of the world’s leading a cappella competitions “Moscow Spring A Cappella Festival”, as well as performed with Raimonds Pauls in the program “Three Raimondi”, performed the concert program “Dedication” together with composer Mārtiņš Brauns and collaborated with artists such as Aminata, Jānis Stībelis, Sigfrīds Muktupāvels, Raimonds Ozols and others.

The concert on December 16 at Latvijas Radio Studio 1 will be special for the musicians themselves, as the band will perform in a new line-up. The current participants Robert Memmēni (bass) and Dagnis Roziņš (tenor) will be joined by Niks Freimanis (baritone), Karlīna Priedēna (viola), Madara Gaile (viola), Sanija Roze (soprano) and Sanita Roze (soprano). In the pre-Christmas concert program, the musicians promise to create a mood full of glamor, warmth and love, performing both Christmas and other songs that are close to them and stylistically different. “We also want to refresh the program we performed two years ago at the final concert of the Riga a cappella festival” Insomnia: Home “, which took place in the” Palladium “concert hall,” says the group’s leader Roberts Memmēns. “It could be called both jazz and high-quality pop music with jazz elements. We definitely want to perform a song by Maestro Raimonds Pauls and just as much another song “Dedication” by Mārtiņš Brauns… ”

The concert starts at 7 pm Live broadcasts and a limited number of live tickets can be purchased at aula.lv. The live concert will take place in a “green” security mode, in accordance with national epidemiological regulations – the concert will be open to persons with a valid vaccination or disease certificate. You will need to present a valid certificate and ID at the entrance.
