The Pentagon does not support the idea of introducing a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. This was stated at a briefing by US Department of Defense spokesman Patrick Ryder.
The introduction of this regime will allow the Palestinian Hamas movement to regroup, Ryder noted.
“We do not support a ceasefire, it will give Hamas time to regroup, which will once again endanger the lives of Israelis and others,” he said.
US authorities supported the establishment of a series of humanitarian pauses in the conflict zone to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza and remove people from there, including hostages, Ryder added.
