During the construction of the Syretsko-Pecherskaya metro line in Kiev, accidents occurred, and it itself was in transit for a long time.
According to the portal 44, its design is made in light colors with the use of marble on tubing (an element of prefabricated fastening of underground structures. – Ed.) pylons. During its creation, architects, among other things, were inspired by the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra.
The station has a straight island platform 101.5 meters long. Architects Valery Gnevishev, Nikolai Aleshkin and Tamara Tselikovskaya were involved in its creation.
The construction of Pecherskaya began in the 1980s and was planned to open in the early 1990s. However, the great depth of the installation caused problems with the construction of the escalator. For a long time “Pecherskaya” was a transit between “Klovskaya” and “Druzhby Narodov”, but it was opened only on December 27, 1997.
The foundation of the station is associated with the geographical features of Pechersk. For example, the nearby Arsenalnaya is the deepest in the world.
“Pecherskaya” got its name from the historical area of Pechersk and the administrative district of the same name. Which, in turn, originate from the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra, where caves (caves) were built by monks in ancient times.
Previously OBOZREVATEL reported that the station of the Syretsko-Pecherskaya metro line “Zolotye Vorota” in Kiev due to its design recognized as one of the most beautiful in the world.
