The peak of the flu will be in January and February, the first cases at the end of November

We have learned to live with COVID. The virus has changed and is now a part of our being, Prof. Iva Hristova, director of the National Center for Infectious and Parasitic Diseases commented to Nova TV.

“We must accept this disease as part of seasonal viruses,” she emphasized.

Hristova specified that the abolition of the quarantine was a proposal of the Ministry of Health, taken after intensive discussion in the expert councils. “Covid is a virus that requires us to stay at home to give the body a break. If we want it to pass quickly, it is better to stay at home,” she said. According to her, 5 days is the time for which we can fully recover. “Currently, COVID is widespread, the plateau has already been passed and cases are decreasing. “The virus is slowly going away to come in the spring”, said Iva Hristova.

“The first cases of flu are expected at the end of the month. They will gradually increase in December, mass distribution will be in January and February,” she said.

In words and data for acute respiratory diseases show peak values. “They are around 2,300 for the week, down from 1,900 three weeks ago. The huge share among them is COVID”, added Hristova.
