The territorial and rural balance center (PETR) of the Montluçon and Cher valley countries (Allier) has decided to maintain the platform in 2021 achetezamontlucon.fr. The latter was relaunched in mid-November to help so-called non-essential businesses, closed during the second confinement.

Memberships on the rise until businesses reopen

The objective was then to allow them to continue selling their products via the platform. New memberships were quickly registered, but when businesses reopened, the PETR noted that this increase was stalling.

“As of the reopening on November 25, merchants were less site-focused and more focused on their stores, which is totally logical and understandable. There was a deceleration at that time, but new memberships continue to arrive nonetheless. “

A number of products multiplied by ten

Memberships, which are free, have increased from seventeen to fifty-five businesses, spread over five inter-municipal authorities in the district of Montluçon. The number of products offered has almost multiplied by ten, to now amount to just over 1,000 items.

A site that served as a showcase

While only nine baskets, with an average value of around 45 euros each, were sold on the site, traders noticed that Achatamontlucon.fr had sometimes served as a showcase.

Merchants have noticed that people saw the products on the platform and then went to buy them in the store.

An easier-to-use platform

The other reason for satisfaction for the PETR is that the use of the platform has been greatly simplified for traders. They were thus able to create their own interfaces. “We had no product sheet to create ourselves and very little after-sales service to do,” confirms Bastien Nowak.

Continue to improve the site with local stakeholders

The PETR is now thinking with all the local actors (elected officials, CCI, Chambers of Trades and Agriculture, merchant associations, etc.) on how to improve the tool.

“It is necessary that the merchants appropriate the site, that they do not hesitate to use it for the sales, their promotions or their advertising campaigns. It’s up to them to invent what they want to do with it. Achatamontlucon.fr is a tool for commercial animation and not only for sales ”, insists Samir Triki, president of PETR.
