Ten years ago, the ARS (regional health agency) and the regional body for education and health promotion (Ireps) launched the Pass’Santé Jeunes. The objective: to provide children and adolescents with validated information on all questions relating to health; give them the contact details of the structures which, near their place of residence, can provide an answer to their problem.

Covid-19: 31.6% of Icaunais received the first dose of vaccine, 16% both
Ten years after its launch, the Pass’Santé Jeunes is getting a makeover to become accessible to everyone, even those with any disability. It is also enriched by a new section which now covers all ages, from 0 to 18 years old, or even beyond.
“Scientifically controlled” content
“Access to information is adapted to the user’s age,” explains Agathe Sandon, responsible for running the site at Ireps: 8-12 years old, 12-15 years old, 16 and over. The new section , for children aged 0 to 8, is accessible in the area reserved for parents. ” The Pass’Santé Jeunes has around 2,000 visitors per month.
Its “pro” version, intended for adults responsible for educating children (socio-cultural leaders, teachers, sports coaches, etc.), has almost as many. One of the challenges, now, is “to increase attendance,” says Agathe Sandon.
Frequently Asked Questions
On health issues, it is young people who seek most information on the Internet, when there is a lot of false information circulating there. It is therefore essential for the initiators of the project to provide them with information whose content is “scientifically controlled”, underlines Jean-François Dodet, doctor, responsible for prevention and health promotion at the ARS.

The subjects dealt with on the Pass’Santé Jeunes site are very numerous: food hygiene, tobacco or drugs, music and hearing, discomfort, physiological functioning of the body, sports practices and safety … Frequently asked questions also give direct access to questions for which young people most often come to seek answers on the internet. Among them: what to do if my period is late, what to do if you are the scapegoat at school, what to do when you no longer have a taste for anything …
