Zach couldn’t leave the hall even for a moment during any screening, despite American custom, he couldn’t have any food or drink at the screenings and was forbidden to do anything else. So he couldn’t even look at his phone or fall asleep during a particularly boring piece. During the individual screenings, the cinema staff monitored whether all the rules were followed honestly.

He says himself that he tried to watch about 16 movies a week. During the working week, he reportedly went to about three movies a day, and on weekends his visits were even longer. A film buff, he preferred shorter films so I could get more done in a day.

Although his performance may appear to be at least not exactly cheap entertainment, it did not cost thirty-two-year-old Zach more than approximately six thousand crowns. He was using Regal Cinemas monthly passes, which cost only 22 US dollars (approximately 505 crowns).

Movies for a good cause

However, Zach’s regular visits to the cinema were not for their own sake, and the film enthusiast was not primarily concerned with the few minutes of fame that an entry in the Guinness Book of Records would bring him. The record holder lives with Asperger’s syndrome and his goal was to spread awareness about this disease through the organization.

In addition to the book entry, Regal Cinemas also sent him a token token of appreciation worth US$7,777. But Zach didn’t keep those either and sent them to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention because it’s a cause close to his heart.
