He was a medical figure among best known in the provincebut his family, originally from Mortara, meant that he was close to many patients from Mortara, Vigevano and Lomellina who were cared for by him in his professional medical career. He died at the age of 88 on Professor Renato Corsico. He lived in Pavia and graduated in medicine in the 1960s. He was a pulmonologist and he worked at the Labor Clinic of Pavia, he founded the Pulmonary rehabilitation center of Veruno (Novara) and then directed the rehabilitation center of Montescano both from Maugeri. In the first he remained nine years, in the second thirteen. He later stayed head of the pulmonary rehabilitation facility and served on the Board of Directors of Maugeri Foundation. From the beginning of the medical profession he was one of the first specialists in Allergology.
Professor Corsico is brother of Marco Corsicoof the pharmacy of the same name Corso Garibaldi in Mortaratoday managed by his son Giulio. He leaves two sons, Angelo, a pulmonologist, head physician at the San Matteo polyclinic in Pavia and Massimo, an architect. Another son, Andrea, was a radiologist at San Matteo in Pavia, but died from an illness at the age of 54. His wife, Liliana, passed away in 2014.
The funeral of Professor Renato Corsico will be held tomorrow, Tuesday in Pavia, at 9 in the church of the Sacred Heart (in Ticinello). Then the body will be taken to Mortara in family chapel in the local cemetery. «He loved his profession – says his son Massimo – and it’s true that they were many fellow citizens of Lomellini to know him and have a point of reference in him.
