After a short two-day break, the International Balloon Festival program resumed in full force on Thursday, August 15, and will continue until Sunday, August 18. Several artists will perform on the festival’s main stage, including Simple Plan, Charlotte Cardin, Avril Lavigne and Ludovick Bourgeois.
On Thursday night, the event featured a show by Montreal band Simple Plan. The group, which has been immersed in the music industry for over 20 years, is known for its hits I’m Just a Kid, Perfect et Welcome to My Life. His sixth studio album Harder Than it looks was also released in 2022.
Charlotte Cardin
On Friday, August 16, it’s singer-songwriter Charlotte Cardin’s turn to perform on stage. The singer who was at the festival in 2022 is back in force this year, with several new songs to present to her audience, including some from the album 99 Nights released in 2023.
Before his arrival, festival-goers will be able to attend a performance by the artist Fredz. Mixing pop and rap, the latter will be accompanied by musicians to present his show Tomorrow it will be nice.
Avril Lavigne
A very dynamic evening will also be offered to spectators on Saturday, August 17, when world-renowned artist Avril Lavigne will be on stage. The Canadian singer is known for her many hits that marked the 2000s, such as Girlfriend, Complicated, What the Hell et Sk8ter Boi. His most recent album, Love Suxwas released in 2022.
Punk rock band Les Shirley will be opening for the singer. Born in 2018 in Montreal, the female trio offers a style that is both nostalgic and new. On stage, we can expect a set that will amaze.
Ludovick Bourgeois
It was Quebec singer Ludovick Bourgeois who closed the International Montgolfières on Sunday, August 18. In his show directed by Joël Legendre, the artist will perform hits from the cult group Les BB, of which his father Patrick Bourgeois was a member. Fans will be able to hear Give me a chance, You will never know et You’re on the moon.
During the same evening, singer-songwriter Andréanne A. Malette will also present a show in which we will be able to discover, among other things, songs from her new album. The Disturbed Gardensreleased this year.
Relief
It is important not to forget that several talented emerging musical artists will also be performing on the festival’s secondary stage. The French-speaking group Blesse and the rock group Story Untold will perform tonight, while the following day, it will be Montreal rapper Vendou and pop singer Éléonore Lagacé. The alternative rock group Ragers will be performing on Saturday, August 17, as will alternative pop singer Emi Jeen. On Sunday, August 18, we will be able to discover the talent of Loïc Lafrance.
