The construction of the offshore section of the first branch of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline has been technically completed, the press service of the pipeline operator Nord Stream 2 AG announced, Interfax reports, FOCUS News Agency reported.
“On June 4, the laying of the pipes was completed, today the overlap was carried out – the offshore sections of the pipeline, laid by the Russian and German sides, are interconnected,” the company said, adding that the process will take several months.
The work on laying the pipes in the sea section of the second branch of the gas pipeline continues. It is carried out in accordance with all necessary permits, emphasize the builders of the pipeline.
