Although this year’s representatives of the Latvian Eurovision Song Contest, the group “Other Boys” did not make it to the finals of the competition, they have been noticed across the ocean, where they are mentioned in John Oliver’s show “Last Week Tonight”.
The group members themselves have shared the news on the microblogging site Twitter, expressing the pleasure that they have been noticed, as they claim, by one of the leaders of their “favorite TV show of all time”.
Oliver, who looks at the world’s biggest news of the week in a humorous way, spoke about Eurovision on Sunday, also mentioning the representatives of Latvia.
“Latvia’s representatives did not make it to the finals at all, despite one of the best introductions to the song in the history of music,” says its host. “How so? Aren’t you entertained? The Eurovision Song Contest is absolutely crazy in all its best ways.”
“Last Week Tonight” is an satire show of American conversations and news, hosted by British comedian John Oliver. It first appeared on the HBO channel in 2014.

The winners of the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 were the representatives of the ethnorep group Kalush Orchestra with the song Stefania.
