Hirsch’s mother said: “We’ve never heard him angry, so it doesn’t sound familiar, but it’s still his voice.” His father added: “You can call the video propaganda, but it was so important for us to see it and hear it, and share the documentation with more people, with more families. Maybe give them some inspiration.”

“We were always optimistic and hopeful that Hirsch was alive. Seeing him on video was so moving,” Rachel said. “I haven’t heard his voice since he was kidnapped, not even in the videos. It was too hard for me. We were extremely shocked by the video.”

The mother stated that when she watched the video of her son for the first time, she repeatedly said “my poor son”: “He is my boy and he will always be my little boy. Seeing his injury, which is now permanent, is difficult as a parent. He slept worse tonight than other nights. When the child Yours is a danger – you have to save him. We’ve been trying so hard for 202 days to save him and we’re failing.”
