Our first starts are on Thursday – in badminton, table tennis and swimming.
“Polish Paralympians proved their strength during the European Championships in 2018. Since then, they have been receiving more attention,” says Miłosz Szal, a former physiotherapist for the Tokyo Paralympic track and field team.
I can say that it matured before my eyes. We then went to the European Championships in Berlin, where our athletes won a record number of medals. We dominated the classification, we dominated Europe. It was a big hit in the sports world. It was a moment when the Paralympians were appreciated.
– emphasizes Miłosz Szal.
Poles won 36 medals at the Paralympic Games in London. In Rio de Janeiro, they won 39 medals, and in Tokyo, they won 24 medals, taking 17th place in the general classification.
The opening ceremony of the Paralympic Games will take place today at 8:00 p.m. on Place de la Concorde and the Champs Elysées. All disciplines will be broadcast live on the organizer’s social media channels.
