The Swedish police are investigating the suspected rape that happened on the Viking Grace car ferry. This was reported earlier on Sunday by Aftonbladet and the Åland newspaper Nya Åland.
According to Nya Åland, both the male person suspected of the crime and the person concerned are Swedish citizens. According to Aftonbladet, both are adults, and they did not know each other before.
– He was arrested on the ship and we caught him when the ship arrived at the port of Stockholm, Swedish police spokesperson Carina Skagerlind tells Aftonbladet.
According to Aftonbladet, the police are investigating the case as rape and assault. The cabin where the suspected act took place has been cordoned off for a technical investigation.
