Dubai, September 26 / WAM / During its current session, the Arab Media Forum will host a number of writers and thinkers to present their ideas and visions about their most prominent and latest works. Among them is Dr. Osama Al-Shazly, author of the novel “The Papers of Shimon Al-Masry”, whom the Forum hosted during its first day in a dialogue session. It was moderated by the media, Parween Habib, from Dubai Media Incorporated, and discussed the idea and themes of the novel, which achieved great popularity and public success and topped the bestseller lists for two full years.
During the session, Al-Shazly confirmed that the novel, which took seven years to write, includes historical facts, fictional characters, and events, to narrate the idea of the dispersion that societies may be exposed to and the desired stability.
He pointed out the symbolism that was used in weaving the characters and events of the novel, and the journey of the hero “Simon the Egyptian” to search for his identity and reach the Holy Land.
Dr. Osama Al-Shazly, from the Arab Media Forum platform, announced that the novel “The Shimon Papers” will soon be transformed into a huge multi-season dramatic work, given the large size of the novel, its chapters, and the complexity of its events and characters.
At the end of the session, the Egyptian novelist recounted some of the situations that accompanied the writing of the novel, which were deleted from his personal computer, but he kept a single copy that he had sent to one of the media professionals, who took the initiative to send it to the publishing house that printed the novel, bringing the number of its editions to 30 so far. .
It is noteworthy that Dr. Osama El-Shazly is an Egyptian doctor, writer, and novelist. He obtained a doctorate in orthopedic surgery, and has published many international research papers and a book on surgery. In addition to his academic work, he teaches the history of medicine at the Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams University, and the University of Barcelona, and has written many books. From short stories and articles in a number of newspapers, he also gave many lectures in the field of literature and history.
