The Panthers love playing the Bruins and once again they came back from Boston to win when the two teams met this week, doing the double this season after just four games
The Panthers beat the Bruins… Again
Boston just can’t beat the Panthers in NHL and it was the same sad story again for the hosts on Monday, when Florida took two points away from the TD Garden.
This is the second time the Bruins have lost to the Panthers already this year and that loss brings their losses to their division rivals to 12 in the last two years.
Last year the teams met during the postseason and it’s clear from their two meetings this season that some Bruins players are still bitter. The Bruins were defeated by the Panthers in the six-game series that saw Boston eliminated in the second round.
Speaking after the loss, Boston captain Brad Marchand insisted the Bruins are still not hung up on last year’s playoff loss: “At the end of the day, it’s two points. There is no relation to last year.
“Nothing that happened will change. Those are two points that we didn’t win.”
The other players on the team seemed to be energized by the rivalry, however, with Bruins center Mark Kastelic fueling the rivalry with three assists in the loss.
“It’s a pretty fun rivalry,” Kastelic said. “We definitely don’t like each other too much. It makes for a pretty fun hockey game and it’s fun to be a part of those challenges. I think going forward we’ll just have to increase our competitive level.”

The Bruins are now 2-2 on the season, in what was a strong start for the team with wins against the Kings and Canadiens at TD Garden.
Monday’s loss isn’t a disaster for the Bruins, especially just two weeks into the season, but they’ll have to wait a while to get revenge on Florida with their next matchup at Amerant Bank Arena not coming until January.
