Omer Tetik, CEO Banca Transilvania, stated at a PwC Romania conference that the coronavirus pandemic was a hard reset for the economy. This reset has brought all economic players almost on an equal footing, according to Tetik.
The CEO of Banca Transilvania claims that, although the economy was forcibly reset due to the coronary crisis, the beginning of 2021 is a promising one.
Now is the time to start from scratch and look to the future, seize our opportunities and focus on investment.
“It is important to think about how we will continue the activity, the investments, from now on”, said Omer Tetik.
According to the CEO of Banca Transilvania, after this economic reset we are at an almost equal start for everyone. It is important to think about how we will continue the activity, the investments, from now on.
The premises for recovery are good
The CEO claims that 2021 has started right and that many industries have already returned to recovery:
“January 2021 was a record month for us. We have all the prerequisites to move on. There are many investment opportunities. We saw that it was a good time and some industries, caused by the crisis, like Horeca, some used this for online sales, delivery services and so on, others used this for training or renovation of spaces. It’s also a hard reset. “
During the same conference organized by Pwc Romania, several experts and leaders from various industries were invited, who discussed the effects of the pandemic on the economy, but especially focused on the measures to be taken for the economy to recover, and entrepreneurs to take advantage of opportunities to take business to a new level.
The economy, kept in vaccination chess
Mihai Marcu, CEO of MedLife, said, for example, that the government needs to take steps to increase vaccination rates. He believes the stalemate that could arise in the vaccination campaign could be in June-July, when vaccines will be available, but there will be people who do not want to be vaccinated.
The success of the vaccination campaign and the speed with which we acquire our immunity in society largely depend, as experts believe, on the chances of the economy to return to normal.
“There are vaccines. The stakes will rise in June-July when there will be vaccines and there will be no people who want to be vaccinated. I think that this must be prepared with great care and I think that it must be part of the public discourse constantly “, said Mihai Marcu.
