The pandemic does not stop the donations of Jaén, 15% more this January

The residents of Jaén donated 2,068 bags of blood in January of this year, 15% more than in January of the previous year. The Blood Transfusion Center of Jaén will carry out during the month of February a total of 40 outings to various municipalities in the province, with the aim of maintaining the supply of blood products in health centers. So, for the next few weeks, mobile units will visit the municipalities of Torredelcampo, Iznatoraf, Villacarrillo, Frailes, Úbeda, Villanueva de la Reina, Noalejo, Jimena, Martos, Orcera or Pegalajar.

The requirements to donate blood are: be between 18 and 65 years old and a weight equal to or greater than 50 kilograms; not suffer from chronic diseases or have an acute infection; not have anemia; and not to carry out risk practices that facilitate the spread of diseases, such as hepatitis, syphilis or AIDS. It is mandatory to go with the DNI or document that accredits them and it is advisable not to go on an empty stomach.
