The International Vaccination Center It has served 2,815 travelers so far this year, which is a sizable increase from 2021 and 2020, years in which vaccines injected to travel abroad collapsed due to the covid-19 pandemic. In this way, this 2022 the pulse of travelers in the Pamplona International Vaccination Center, dependent on the government delegation, has recovered, but still lies away from pre-pandemic levels.
Specifically, in 2019 5,461 people were treated and 1,695 vaccines were administered; in 2020 to 1,282 travelers – most of them in January and February, before childbirth – and 460 doses were injected; in 2021 the minimum was reached with 940 assisted travelers and 438 vaccinations – the majority between April and August -; and this year the activity of the International Vaccination Center increased to 2,815 people and 1,298 doses.
As explained by the center itself, the demand for travelers has increased significantly since 2016 until 2019, when more people have been treated and more vaccines have been administered. Therefore, this year’s increase is far from the 2019 data and is closer to 2016 and 2017 levels.
REACTIVATED FROM MARCH
Undoubtedly, the activity of the International Vaccination Center was marked by the pandemic and after decline in 2020 and 2021international travel has been reactivated this year, especially since March. After the pandemic, however, the profile of travelers has changed: in the last years before the coronavirus, international tourism was mainly aimed at Asia, followed in this case by the Amazonian countries by family visits. Now, Asia has lost its attractiveness and the countries of the African continent have gained it.

“VERY SAFE” VACCINES.
If a person travels to a country where vaccines are required, doubts may arise about side effects or the deadlines for inoculating doses. From the International Vaccination Center they explain that, as with any vaccine, these doses can cause local side effects in the injection area – inflammation and pain – and general side effects such as fever, headache and general malaise. However, the center’s professionals assure them that these are “very safe” vaccines and that side effects are generally rare and transient.
As for the deadlines, from the center they detail that it is advisable to finish obtain vaccines two weeks before travel. However, we must bear in mind that some vaccines require more doses to be effective, so it is advisable for travelers to consult the center at least one or two months in advance ”.
