The Philharmonic Association Band of Music Our Lady of Palomares de Trebujena has requested, through a petition in change.orgthat the name of the municipal theater of the Cadiz town bear the name of José Manuel Valderas, director of the aforementioned band until his sad death on July 5.
“Despite his young age, we can categorically affirm that his legacy has been extensive both personally and professionally, which is why those of us who remain here owe him a debt. Unfortunately, we will not be able to continue enriching ourselves of his work and his teachings, but we can make his figure continue among us by remembering him”, they point out from the aforementioned band.
The idea of proposing that the theater bear the name of the director arises because “the punctual tributes at the end are forgotten, but the name of our theater will always be there. It is the best way for us all to remember, not only the best musician who has our people have had to date, but also a great person, an example for all”.
So far, more than 900 people have signed for the aforementioned installation to be called the José Manuel Valderas García Municipal Theater.
