“I certainly feel in much better spirits after this. I haven’t been able to talk to anyone (about the film) to be honest, but I don’t have much of a voice either,” the director told EL UNIVERSAL, in a good mood.
The producer of Anette and Time Share said that the award was a pleasant surprise, although he expected to win something after the organizers had requested the director’s presence at the closing ceremony.

“We knew there was going to be some kind of recognition, but this is unbelievable. I think this is a brave film that takes risks and has a great proposal. It is very much appreciated that the jury has chosen to give him the award”, considered Chavezmontes.
Hope to be able to travel to Mexico and prepare the commercial launch of the title, on a date to be defined.
This was the third time for Chavezmontes on the French Riviera since 2018. The first time was with the Franco-Mexican-Swiss film La daga en el corazón; while last year he was for Annette, Memoria and Bergman’s Island.

Participation in Triangle of sadness It was the result of a long relationship with its Swedish director, whom he met four years ago when the director was part of the jury that awarded the screenplay for the film Time Shared at Sundance, a production by Chavezmontes with his company PIANO.
The Mexican said he is stable and hopes for a speedy recovery.
